Name: Yu San Lin
Major: Computer Science
Year: 2nd year PhD student
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Yu San Lin: I am wearing a jacket from Sly, leggings from Abercrombie & Fitch, Hunter boots and a Mulberry bag.
CF: Who do you get your style inspiration from?
YL: I am inspired by Korean actresses, especially Kim Tae-Hee and Park Min-Young. I think they are cute and feminine.
CF: What does it mean to you to dress stylish?
YL: It’s important to me because it makes me happy. It also makes me feel ready for the day and feel a lot more prepared.
CF: What’s your best advice for other Fashionistas on how to dress in this weather?
YL: I would tell them to invest in a nice coat and a pair of boots because that’s the main part of your outfit that people see. My boots and my coat are two of my favorite pieces in my closet.
How To: Follow in her footsteps (literally!) and invest in a pair of snow boots. Especially in this cold, wintery weather, it is important that while dressing chic, you are still warm and comfortable! Speaking of being warm and comfortable, fleece-lined leggings offer the same comfort as a pair of sweats, but create a more polished look. Rock the army green trend that was spotted on runways during the fall by finding an army green coat. In addition, a simple leather bag never goes out of style. To finish off the look, coordinate your accessories with another recent trend, the color cobalt blue! This Fashionista chooses to sport the color with her earrings, but you can also wear it in other ways such as this fun cable knit scarf found here. Don’t be afraid to mix and match trends and make this look your own!
