While most of us dread the final days of summer, some welcome the fall semester with style and grace. The bore of syllabus week has begun but our outfits shouldn’t have to be the ones to suffer. Today’s Fashionista was spotted looking effortlessly chic; her simple black and white dress looked fabulously stylish for the beginning of an otherwise repetitive first week.
Name: Yolanda Michelle Franco
Major: Criminal Justice
CollegeFashionista: How do you usually put your outfits together?
Yolanda Michelle Franco: I don’t really plan my outfits. The inspiration [mostly] depends on how the weather is that day. If the day is bright, I’ll wear bright items. If the day is gloomy I’ll wear bright lipstick. However, my style always remains laid back with a touch of elegance.
CF: Where do you normally shop?
YMF: Zara, Gap, Forever 21 and Ragstock are among my favorites but I like to try new places too.
CF: Are there any style icons who you look up to?
YMF: Well, everyone loves Beyoncé, right? I don’t really have any.
CF: That’s all right! What is your must have item for fall?
YMF: Lipstick. Red and plums are my signature look.
How To: This look is perfect for those days when you’d rather hit the snooze button twice than spend time putting together an outfit. A flowy chiffon dress will help you look put together and cute while still keeping it casual. Have fun by adding a pop of color with accessories. Scared of wearing heels to class? Opt for a chunky heel because they’ll provide additional support and comfort while you sprint to class.
