In South Texas, fall really isn’t fall until the middle or end of October. We still experience 90 degree days during the month of November! Dressing for autumn can often be a tedious task. Although, there are a few Fashionistas and Fashionistos who make this all-so-difficult balancing act look like child’s play. In warmer weather conditions, make your fall outfit as hot as the sun with combos like shorts and sweaters, booties and dresses and scarves with wedges!
Name: Veronica Rodriguez
Major: Public Relations & Advertising
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Veronica Rodriguez: My blouse is from Dillard’s, my pants from Kohl’s and my wedges are from Call It Spring.
CF: Why did you decide to wear purple pants?
VR: I believe that purple is a perfect fall color. It’s the beginning of fall, so we should start wearing colors complimentary towards that.
CF: What is your favorite fall accessory?
VR: Riding boots will be my favorite this season. They go perfectly with so many different outfits. They’re just so cool.
CF: Why did you substitute riding boots for wedges?
VR: Because of the weather in South Texas you still have to wear some summer pieces with your outfit. It isn’t cold outside…yet!
CF: Are gold accessories common for you?
VR: I prefer gold accessories over silver and any other color. It’s my go-to choice when I just throw something on or prepare an outfit.
How To: Even though purple is a fall color, try on burnt orange pants for size. A complimentary warm-colored tank top would pair up perfectly. You can also pop on a light weight sweatshirt. Riding boots would look equally as chic with the look just as this Fashionista talked about. Or, wear some adorable flats. Gold accessories will still do the trick when working with this type of outfit for yourself. For an extra detailed twist, try out some adorable milk maid braids with your gorgeous tresses!
