CollegeFashionista: How has living and experiencing fashion abroad influenced your personal style?
Tracy Ludwigson: I’m currently on my spring break in France. What I’ve noticed, while visiting various countries is that personal style is very important. It’s not about one specific style per city – it’s about your own personal twist. It’s about you owning what you wear. Rocking your own unique style is important.
CF: What advice do you have to give to future travelers in regards to what to pack and how to dress while on-the-go?
TL: Comfort is always key. Of course, keep fashion trends in mind, but it’s most important to choose your cute kicks over your high heels or flats because .
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
TL: At home, I shop at the cliche stores, like H&M and Forever21. I also love the variety of thrift stores. I go in any boutique I pass that looks cute. Same goes for Rome. I love walking around Via Del Corso for the bigger name brands, like Brandy Melville and Zara, but wandering down Italy’s side streets always leads me to awesome finds. I have a wide range of brands in my closet.
How To: This outfit is quite simple to accomplish. This Fashionista chose her basic striped shirt, but options for this blouse are endless. Try floral, tapestry or geometric patterns to achieve a similar look. Then tuck your shirt into your favorite pair of high-waisted denim. Adding the scarf allows for another playful pattern to blend with the shirt. Choose an airy, patterned scarf for the hotter days (any pattern that doesn’t clash with your top). But don’t let the scarf limit your accessorizing. This Fashionista added her vintage necklace, adding the perfect amount of detailing. Throw on your boots and you’re ready for a day along the Seine with maximum comfort and classic cool.
