FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Taylor Zielke

Fashionista Spotlight

Dressing up for an 8 a.m. is never easy, no matter what the circumstance. Some choose to not get dressed at all, and simply roll out of bed wearing what they had on the night before. Others take a more fashionable alternative and throw on a comfy chunky sweater with a pair of printed leggings that are easy on the eyes. This Fashionista caught my attention with her cropped sweater, it was the perfect neutral piece to pair with her aztec patterned leggings. Her high-tops and crew socks contributed to the comfort aspect of the outfit. She added a variety of rings to really bring the look together. Overall the ensemble balanced itself out and embodied the rocker chic look.

Name: Taylor Zielke

Major: Apparel Merchandising and Design

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, which store would it be and why?

Taylor Zielke: It would have to  be H&M because I like the pieces they have there because they are quick and easy to match together.

CF: Who/what inspires your style?

TZ: The store Free People definitely inspires my style.

CF: Does your major affect the way you dress?

TZ: Yes, I think dressing cute or at least decently put together makes me feel better about the day and it reflects my passion.

CF: Who is your favorite designer and why?

TZ: I would have to say Zuhair Murad. I admire his simple and classy work.

How To: Leggings are a huge part of a college student’s wardrobe, but they’re not always the most exciting pieces to wear. Try customizing a pair of leggings to make them more your own and less boring. Start off with a cheap pair of plain leggings (so if you make a mistake, you’re not breaking the bank) and play around with different things like scissors, bleach or acrylic paint. Kylie Jenner is one specific celebrity who has made cutout and worn leggings a huge trend, so you should look to her for inspiration.
