If there is one thing that I believe every Fashionista should have in her closet, it is a good peacoat. While I know that Florida is the crazy cousin that no one likes to talk about, who may be the only state experiencing warm weather, everyone else in this country is still waiting for spring to hang out. Maybe, that is why I have such a fond connection with my peacoat. Usually, when I am wearing it, I am traveling somewhere else. Not only is the peacoat the perfect coat to bring with you in your over-the-50-pound-limit suitcase, but it can also be great for layering, which is pretty essential for springtime.

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it from?
Sydni Gonzalez: I am wearing an orange peacoat from Old Navy. It is actually my sisters. I took it from her because she didn’t want to wear it.
CF: Do you normally receive a lot of stuff from your sister or other family members?
SG: My sister buys a lot of cute clothes and doesn’t wear them. So, I just take them because she really doesn’t understand how cute they are.
CF: I see that you are getting ready for spring with this bright peacoat. What else are you looking forward for spring?
SG: I have really been into monochromatic colors. I love black and white, nude or black and white with gold. It’s funny because I was just thinking about this the other day. I love monochromatic colors, but it’s either black and white or super earthy like purples or clays and greens with cotton and linens. I’m kinda all over the place; I go with how I feel.
CF: What are you thinking of wearing for the black and white trend right now?
SG: I have these white linen pants that I got from GUESS like six years ago and this black cotton beach shirt. Then, I’ll accent it with turquoise or gold.
How To: Nothing says royalty like this petite majesty peacoat from J.Crew. The bright color is perfect for spring and it will keep you warm until the warm weather decides to show up. Pair it with these white stilettos, which is trending this season. Nothing says a new beginning better than a clean pair of white heels.
