Fashionista Spotlight

Mixing prints and patterns are a huge trend this summer. When done right it can look super chic. Simple pairings are but not limited to, floral with polka-dots, army pattern with stripes and tribal with lace. One thing to always remember is, you want your two patterns or prints to complement each other. Whether having similar colors in the prints and patterns or mixing a neutral pattern with a bright print, like this Fashionista did.

Name: Susan Necciai

CollegeFashionista: How would you define your style?

Susan Necciai: I would define my style as versatile. I love to change it up everyday depending on my mood or the weather. I never want to wear the same type of outfit twice. I can be hippy one day and business the next.

CF: What are your favorite brands to wear?

SN: Some of my favorite brands to wear are Brandy Melville, Topshop, Forever 21 and Buckle. I love the variety that each brand has and even though some are a little more expensive, you can always find something reasonable.

CF: What would you say is the biggest influence on how you dress?

SN: My mood and the weather are definitely two of the biggest influences on how I dress. I always love to look at magazines, social media and people in my classes. I always try to take those looks and recreate them in my own way.

How To: I love the mix of tribal and lace this Fashionista paired together. To imitate this look pair a long black lace maxi skirt with a cropped tribal pattern shirt. Add some fun accessories like a neon cross-body bag or gladiator sandals. If you want to try mixing a different pair of patterns, my favorite is polka-dot and stripes. Try it by pairing black polka dot shorts, a cropped stripe sweater and fun colored flats.
