FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Stephanie Master

Fashionista Spotlight

When the weather hits 60 degrees in Michigan, it calls for crop tops and maxi skirts for us Fashionistas. After this long and perpetual winter, one must agree that this sunshine calls for less clothing, like this Fashionista who shows us an adorable ensemble to wear for spring. Her edgy vibe mixed with her flirty wardrobe catches many glances as she passes by.

Name: Stephanie Master

Year: Senior

Major: Apparel Merchandising and Design

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today and where is it from?

Stephanie Master: I am wearing a blue American Eagle crop top with a black maxi skirt from T.J. Maxx, Jeffrey Campbell Lolita studded heels and my sunglasses and earrings are from Claire’s Boutique.

CF: Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

SM: I get my fashion inspiration from Japanese Harajuku street fashion, Coco Chanel, cute and creepy things, pastels and black, gothic and counter cultures.

CF: If you could meet one famous fashion designer for lunch who would it be and why?

SM: If I could meet with one famous fashion designer it would be, without a doubt, Coco Chanel. She is my idol, and a huge inspiration to me both fashion wise and as a person. I really appreciate a strong woman who isn’t afraid of a challenge.

CF: How would you describe your personal style?

SM: I would describe my personal style as “Pastel Goth” because my wardrobe consists of black, white and pastels. I mix cute and creepy elements to create my wardrobe.

CF: What are you most excited to wear this spring?

SM: I am most excited to debut my skirts and thigh high stockings this spring

CF: What are your favorite stores to shop at?

SM: My favorite stores to shop at are Topshop, H&M, Free People, T.J. Maxx and a few local boutiques from back home. I also really love independent designers I find on the internet.

How To: To shed some light on bronzed beautiful skin like this Fashionista’s, incorporate light colored crop tops like this one from American Apparel. Pair it with either a pair of flirty high-waisted pants like these ones from Forever 21 or copy this look and stick with a long maxi skirt like this one from Forever 21. Add big jewelry and some spiked heels for an edgy look!
