FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Steph Underwood

Fashionista Spotlight

In the midst of the seasonal change, weather can be so unpredictable. One day it’s supposed to snow, the next it’s 60 degrees outside and frankly I’m having trouble keeping up. The best way to stay fashionable in this crazy weather is to always be prepared.  Unsure of how Mother Nature was going to treat Philly today, this Fashionista kept things neutral. She is wearing a nude color raincoat which is lined with faux fur to keep warm. She paired the coat with brown suede riding boots and white leg warmers. This Fashionista was able to look fashionable while staying protected from the weather.

Name: Steph Underwood

Year: Sophmore

Major: Professional Communications

CollegeFashionista: How are you dealing with all of these crazy weather changes? Do you think it is affecting your style?

Steph Underwood: I’m just trying to stay positive by reminding myself that spring is so close! I am so tired of all the snow but I know it’s going to end soon. I think some days the weather affects my style, especially when it is freezing and windy I just want to be bundled up.

CF: How do you like to always be prepared for the weather?

SU: I always keep pieces in my closet that will protect me from the weather such as my raincoat. I have this heavy one that I am wearing now but I also have a lightweight one that I can wear in the spring and summer.

CF: What is your favorite season to dress for?

SU: I like the early fall. I love boots and sweaters and all that good stuff right before it gets super cold outside. I think the fall season has some of the cutest styles.

How To: Raincoats can often be big and bulky. I like to find ones that have a pattern on them and have a trench coat style. This white and black Betsey Johnson raincoat is classy and can be styled as part of your daily outfit. The lace-up back adds detail and will make the coat more form fitting to prevent you from looking box-shaped. Another great jacket for transitioning into spring is this lightweight wind resistant jacket from Target. It’s brown with minor detail which is neutral enough to always wear and will protect you from any weather while staying in style!
