College consists of long days and even longer nights, and sometimes all you want to do is roll out of bed and throw on sweats for class, after you’ve been up all night slaving over a paper. But this Fashionista is here to give you some tips on how to dress comfortably around campus, while looking chic at the same time, as she demonstrates here in harem pants and a chambray button-down.
Name: Stefanie Urso
Major: Communication Studies
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Stefanie Urso: My pants are from Forever 21, tank and jean shirt are from H&M. My watch is by Michael Kors, bag is Betsey Johnson and my sandals are Steve Madden.
CF: What kind of outfit do you typically wear to class?
SU: When it’s not a “throw-on-sweats-and-go” day, I usually try to go with what’s trending. Lately I’ve been wearing high-waisted shorts or bohemian pants with sandals. Boho pants are honestly just as comfortable as sweats; I would definitely recommend them for class.
CF: Which city is your favorite for shopping?
SU: I would have to say Paris, which I visited while studying abroad [in Sevilla]. The French are known to be the most trendy, and they definitely live up to that. You can find a cute, trendy boutique at every corner for reasonable prices, surprisingly.
CF: Which trends do you feel are going to be popular this fall/winter?
SU: I think maxi skirts, big sweaters, leather jackets and ankle boots are going to be in this season, all of which many fashion blogs and sites are currently highlighting.
How To: If you want to emulate this Fashionista’s style, try finding a pair of harem pants that work for you. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns or try wearing some deep warm colors for the fall. To wear this look on a colder day, try adding a cardigan or a leather jacket (or both), over your outfit for some added layers and warmth! And don’t forget to accessorize with some arm candy as this Fashionista does, or rock a funky necklace!
