As a certified Fashionista, even with a lack of funds, it is always necessary to keep your wardrobe exciting! I love roaming campus and seeing how reinvented people look just by simply incorporating old pieces with new trends. While channeling her inner Haley Williams, today’s Fashionista has honed this mix of old and new with her vibrant rocker ensemble. She pairs an old school Led Zeppelin T-shirt with on trend knee-highs. Not to mention, her color choice of fuchsia and canary yellow are hits in fashion this spring! This Fashionista is proof that one of the most exciting ways to spice up your look this season is to get edgy with a blend of vintage rock and lively colors.
Name: Sidney Shuman
Major: Fashion Merchandising
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your look today?
Sidney Shuman: It is an expression of rock ‘n’ roll music and a mix of my favorite colors.
CF: What would you say is your favorite piece of this season?
SS: Oh, probably high socks. They are a great piece for the rest of the season. I love wearing them, and I think that they look really sexy without coming off trashy.
CF: If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why?
SS: Probably Mae West’s closet from the 1930s— the clothes would be heavily beaded and awesome. They might show off the boobs that I do not have!
How To: To imitate this Fashionista’s look, find one of your favorite band or vintage screen print T-shirts and pair your choice with a colorful mini skirt. Origami skirts are perfect for an outfit like this! If you are more of a tomboy, try some colorful shorts instead. Accent this look with a bright colored coat and black knee-high socks. Black knee-highs are so versatile. If you want more than just a plain pair, go for socks with a cool design. Finish this look off with your favorite ankle boots and you are set!
