Last week, a group of friends and I had a Wes Anderson movie marathon. My personal favorites are The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and, Anderson’s latest one, Moonrise Kingdom. As I watched each film, I not only paid more attention to the stories, but also noticed the way the characters were dressed. I loved Margot and Richie Tenenbaum’s retro style in The Royal Tenenbaums and Suzy’s mid-‘60s feminine look in Moonrise Kingdom. We can’t argue that some of our personal style inspiration comes from the finest films ever made. Today’s Fashionista has a laid-back indie style that could blend into any Wes Anderson film.
Name: Savannah Liles
CollegeFashionista: Where did you get your beautiful dress?
Savannah Liles: I got it online from Urban Outfitters. I always shop online, especially off of Wanelo.
CF: What is your favorite accessory?
SL: My favorite accessories are always adding a couple of rings or a band bracelet—something simple and not too flashy.
CF: What do you love about spring fashion?
SL: In spring fashion I use some dark colors, such as brows and greens and, of course, pop bright colors that stand out.
CF: Where do you like to shop?
SL: I usually shop online at UsTrendy.com, Urban Outfitters or NASTY GAL. They have good, durable clothes at good prices when they’re on sale.
CF: What influences your style?
SL: I look at fashion blogs to wear the most upcoming trends.
CF: Do you have a fashion icon? Do they inspire your style?
SL: I have several fashion icons I look for inspiration depending on what moods I’m in. If I am feeling daring, I love NASTY GAL models, like Chloe Norgaard, and if I’m feeling down to earth, I’ll usually look at Lauren Conrad’s looks.
