Fall has slowly but surely been creeping up on us here in Clemson. While classic prints and colors, such as houndstooth, have been making a comeback this fall, this Fashionista has put her own spin on the classic trend. This Fashionista was caught sporting a classic black and brown thick striped dress with a flair of tribal pattern of its own. She completed her look with a classic checkerboard tote that was purchased while studying abroad in Europe and two pieces of statement jewelry.
Name: Sarah Hardy
CollegeFashionista: What is your favorite thing to wear during the fall season?
Sarah Hardy: I love wearing oversized sweaters and boots/flats with a scarf! It looks super cute and it’s extremely comfortable! Very easy to dress up and down.
CF: What is something that influences your style the most, and how do you turn that into something of your own?
SH: I like to wear really unique items. I do my best shopping when I’m alone so that I pick out things I truly love! That way I know it’s really “me.”
CF: Where are your go to places for buying clothes to add to your wardrobe?
SH: The Loft has really great clothes all year round. They tend to have a really great sale section, too. Additionally, I’ve found that my favorite clothes in my closet are from Gap.
CF: If you could spend one day shopping in any city, where would it be?
SH: 100% Chicago! The Magnificent Mile has the best shopping! I could spend days there!
How To: Most go to fall looks consist of neutral colors, oversized sweaters and riding boots. If you are wanting to recreate the look of this Fashionista, try to do so by taking those basic fall trend concepts and add a little pattern. A great way to do this is with a patterned dress paired with a simple oversized sweater. Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns and neutrals to create your perfect fall look.
