Fashionista Spotlight

It’s commonly known that when you look good, you feel good. Therefore, this Fashionista must have been feeling great! I was completely in awe of this Fashionista’s New York chic ensemble/ When I saw her I knew that I needed to know more about her. She wore an adorable structured jacket with a skater skirt and booties. What really gave her ensemble an empire state of mind was the dark pallet of colors she chose. She styled her outfit with a chunky scarf and topknot bun. The whole look was tied together with a thick winged eyeliner look that left this Fashionista looking fiercely chic.

Name: Sarah Fravel

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.

Sarah Fravel: My shirt and skater skirt are from H&M and my shoes are from Urban Outfitters. I paired my outfit with a scarf from a small boutique called It’s a Love Thing and a jacket from Forever 21.

CF: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

SF: I get inspiration from movies and different color combinations I find in my everyday.

CF: Who is your fashion icon?

SF: My fashion icon is my grandma, because she is effortlessly chic. She stays classic while wearing a lot of fun colors.

CF: Where’s your favorite place to shop?

SF: I love to thrift shop a lot but other than that I really enjoy Urban Outfitters.

CF: How would you describe your style?

SF: I would describe my style as mild with a spark of boldness!

How To: To pull off a New York chic outfit like this Fashionista did, the number one suggestion I have is to choose a dark pallet. Pick out a structured black jacket and pair it with a simple top. Then you can either choose a skater skirt like this Fashionista or you can pick a pair of dark harem pants or wide-leg pants. When picking your shoes you’ll either want a pair of booties or oxfords. Lastly, to pull this look all together you’ll need a chunky, basic scarf. If you pair all of these items together, you’ll be looking bold in no time!
