With this July heat, it can be difficult to want to wear anything but a bathing suit while sitting at the pool! This Fashionista pays homage to the heat of the Wild West with her braided belt and tan boots, while refreshing us with her beachy dress. I love the look of her bright blue fabric, falling loosely around her waist, juxtaposed with a subtle gray fabric that hugs her body!
Name: Sara Ruth
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Sara Ruth: My style is pretty casual.
CF: Is there anything specific that inspires your style?
SR: Usually, I look through my Seventeen magazines and I try to duplicate the styles I think are different or interesting.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
SR: I love my high-waisted shorts that I got at Forever 21. That’s my favorite store to shop at. Although, I have been getting into PacSun lately, where I got this dress.
CF: What made you buy this dress?
SR: I had to buy a dress for my senior banquet and I wanted to make sure I could get a dress that was versatile and cute. I love how this dress fits my waist but then has the loosely hanging chiffon attached to the top. It makes it easy to wear during the day and at night!
CF: I like the way you paired your boots and belt, do you incorporate boots into your wardrobe frequently?
SR: Yeah, I love the statement it makes. It creates a focal point in the outfit. They also make me look taller, which is always a plus!
How To: As do-it-yourself, or DIY, items become popular, people can become more creative in a number of different areas. If you’re in a rush and need to pair something fresh out of your closet, you can simply throw a crop top onto what was once just a body con dress! This simple combination could create dozens of new outfits from your closet.
