The boho look has been taking the UAlbany campus by storm this spring. Knit tops and neutral colors are everywhere I look and I can’t say I hate it. It is a fun and flirty look that is also comfortable, which is a must for a busy college student’s schedule. This Fashionista executed the boho look perfectly for a sunny end-of-semester busy day.
Name: Sara Rivest
CollegeFashionista: Where did you purchase your backpack, sweater and dress?
Sara Rivet: I got my backpack and sweater at Brandy Melville and my dress is from Free People.
CF: Do you have a favorite designer?
SR: I really love Free People, but personally I would rather just go out and buy clothes. I don’t spend hours admiring different designers, I just go out and buy what is affordable and what I like.
CF: Where do you get fashion inspiration?
SR: I like to pull ideas from different celebrities and from fashion magazines.
CF: What is one item in your closet you can’t live without?
SR: I think that would be my jean jacket. I wear it all the time.
CF: Is there one fashion item that you are dying to have?
SR: Well I actually had been dying to get these Ray-Ban aviators I am wearing for such a long time and I just got them. So if you had caught me a few weeks ago I would have said these, but I haven’t gotten my mind set on another item just yet.
CF: How do you like to accessorize for spring?
SR: I am not sure about specific accessories, but I really love short dresses and high-waisted shorts and pants.
CF: What is your go-to shoe for spring?
SR: Well they aren’t exactly the most spring-like shoe but I would say my combat boots. I like to wear them with everything and I think they look great with spring dresses and skirts.
How To: To get Sara’s look try a cute lace dress like this one from Tobi and pair it with some ankle boots similar to these ones by Baker’s Shoes. Add a trendy canvas backpack and if it is a little chilly, add a light neutral colored sweater. Finally, put on great pair of big sunglasses and you’re set.
