The first few weeks of class always bring out the best outfits. Walking around campus, I have seen some seriously great looks that I am already feeling inspired by. I’ve seen some denim pinafore action, adorable leather backpacks and bold lipstick colors. From their clothes to their accessories, Fashionistas/os at Northeastern have started their semester on a high note. Today’s Fashionista, whose entire outfit was purchased at Marshalls, is no exception. Her animal print jacket and lace up heels immediately stood out to me. She wisely paired the jacket with neutral pieces and a cute cross-body purse.

CollegeFashionista: Do you think that working at Marshalls has improved your sense of style?
Rima Sheehab: Yes, I definitely think that working at Marshalls has improved my sense of style! It was so helpful being on the frontline of fashion and putting out the newest trends.
CF: What are your three must-have items for the fall?
RS: My three must-have items for the fall would definitely be a good pair of full length quality black leggings, a cute tribal pattern sweater and scarves on scarves!
CF: What is one fashion faux pas you hate?
RS: A fashion faux pas I cannot stand would have to be the long denim skirts or when girls dress in full out club attire for class.
CF: What advice would you give when it comes to incorporating animal print into one’s wardrobe?
RS: When it comes to incorporating animal print into one’s wardrobe, I’d recommend sticking to one type of animal print and pairing it with a solid (preferably black or really any color) basic bottom or top! It’s the pop of animal print that matters, not a jungle of patterns that confuses people and makes them look twice at you for the wrong reasons!
CF: If you could buy any clothing item and price wasn’t an issue, what would it be?
RS: If I could buy any clothing item and price wasn’t a factor, it would definitely have to be a good pair of quality, tall black boots with some type of gold pattern or studs on them.
How To: All you need to create this look is the confidence to sport some animal print and a great eye when shopping at wonderful discount stores like Marshalls. If you are already a strong supporter of the animal print trend, go for a bold piece like this leopard print blazer. It can be layered over some burgundy pants, a neutral top and lace up booties for class. If you like to keep it more casual, try sporting an animal print shirt over some comfy drawstring pants and classic Converse sneakers. For those of you who are still unsure about this wild trend, take it slow with a pair of leopard print flats or simple jewelry.
