Fashionista Spotlight

It has been a bitter week here at UAlbany, and everyone is bundled head-to-toe. When the temperature drops so low, sometimes your fashion has to take second string to your warmth. Although your outfit may be bundled, there are always options to be bold with pants and boots, which is exactly what I noticed in this Fashionista. When she first caught my eye, she was still bundled in her jacket, but her pants definitely made her outfit pop. At a quick glance, this Fashionista’s black jeans look generic, but when you take a closer look they are embellished with a black velvet rosette pattern. Under her jacket she sported a great jean shirt and a lace scarf, which perfectly complemented the texture of her black jeans.

Name: Rebecca Gigliotti

Major: Business

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: Lets start off with where you bought everything you are wearing.

Rebecca Gigliotti: My pants and denim shirt are both from Target. The boots are Minnetonka and my shirt is from Charlotte Rousse.

CF: Do you have any fashion tips for dressing for the cold upstate weather?

RG: Keeping your head and ears warm is a must. But it doesn’t have to be unfashionable. There are so many cute ear warmers and hats in stores now, and you can pair a different one with each coat you have.

CF: What is your favorite store?

RG: My favorite stores are Marshalls and T.J.Maxx. There are just so many options for getting designer items for less money. You can’t go wrong at either of these stores.

CF: Where you do find fashion inspiration?

RG: I really just like to look at other people and take little pieces of their outfits and make it my own.

How To:  To get this Fashionista’s look, try these polka-dot skinny jeans, pair them with boots like these Tony Lama fringe cowboy boots. On top go for a denim shirt like this one by Diesel on ASOS.
