Now that it is warm outside, this Fashionista is cruising around on her scooter back and forth to her French classes. Luckily, I was able to catch her before zooming off. Her effortless, on-trend style is perfect inspiration for any college Fashionista on the run. Her fashion and style approach is to only buy pieces that look good on her instead of following the trends. That way, she looks good in anything she pulls out of her closet on the fly.
Once again, we see the throwback 90’s grunge influence with the button-up tied around the hips, leather pants and boats. Her mix of patterns in the scarf, button-up and boots add flair and personality to her outfit.
Name: Phoebe Evans
CollegeFashionista: How do you pick your clothes? Because of the brand or something else?
Phoebe Evans: Basically what I do is go into a store and I walk around and pick out anything I think is remotely cute. You never know what will look good on you. Then you have to try it all on, and seriously, I always have 15 things to try on. Whatever looks good, I get. Sometimes people try to wear styles because it is a style, but if it doesn’t look good on you… It has got to look good and that is why you have to try it on in the dressing room so you know.
CF: Your style is comfort and fashionable. How do you do that?
PE: I never buy clothes unless they are comfortable. I feel people often kind of like something so they want to buy it, but unless I love it I won’t buy it. Unless it is comfortable and it looks good, I am not going to buy it. Also, unless it is on sale, because I only buy things on sale.
CF: What is your favorite store to shop at then?
PE: That is hard because favorite is different than where I actually shop. I shop a lot at Forever 21 because everything is so cheap, but I think my favorite store is probably Anthropologie. Everything I have bought at Anthropologie lasts me years upon years and I still wear it, even the stuff I got in junior high. Love it.
How To: For Phoebe’s ’90s look first, put on a loose shirt and leather leggings. Then, tie a patterned button-up around your waist and a patterned scarf around your neck. Finally, put on camo boots to complete the look.
