The first week back at school after a (much too short) winter break can be a bit of a tough sartorial transition. While we still want to dress like all we have on our calendars is a date with our couch and Netflix — it is important to get back into the habit of looking put together when we venture out to campus. After all, you never know who could sit down next to you in class. That boy you were crushing on last quarter definitely needs to be reminded just how cute you are. This Fashionista’s look is the perfect way to transition out of your yoga pants and into class appropriate attire. Her outfit is comfortable yet polished, and unique enough to stand out among the crowds on campus. I had to stop her to ask her a few questions.

How To: What elevates this Fashionista’s comfortable look from plain to perfect, is her incorporation of subtle details in each piece that she is wearing. Her chambray shirt is the perfect way to add just a bit of extra warmth for those chilly mornings and lecture halls. Get her look by picking one with special quirks ,as well as, by rolling up the sleeves to show off your rings and bracelets. To add some visual depth to the shirt, pick one in an unconventional material like linen. Keep the focus on the top of your outfit by pairing stripes and denim with deceptively simple army green skinny jeans. On first glance, it is easy to miss the stitching and zippers that lend some extra interest and a moto feel to this Fashionista’s jeans. Finally, finish off the look by throwing on a pair of canvas Mary Jane flats. These will surely help make the transition back to walking up and down Bruin Walk a bit more comfortable.
