La dolce vita. The sweet life of many things, including a wondrous world of fashion. When I think of European fashion, the first word that pops into my mind is classic. For me, simple and classic looks are essential because they always consist of reliable, go-to pieces for those days when I don’t feel so inspired but still want to look pulled together. This Fashionista seems to have mastered that same European-influenced approach when picking out her daily ensemble. I was drawn to her studded denim vest, patterned lavender maxi and structured leather satchel; I adore her creative mix of edgy and feminine. She finishes off her look with simple accessories—a ring and metallic sandals. For this natural beauty, simple is never, ever boring.
Name: Olivia Messina
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Olivia Messina: Simplistic. My style is more casual, for sure. I usually go with one statement piece and keep my accessories simple —I also don’t wear a lot of color.
CF: Is your style inspired by anything?
OM: My recent trip to Italy really inspired my style with not wearing a ton of jewelry or makeup. Italian style is really natural and beautiful.
CF: What is your go-to outfit for class?
OM: I would have to say jeans, boots and a blazer.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
OM: My black jeans because they’re very comfortable and look great without having to put black [business] pants on.
CF: What fall trend do you think you’ll be seeing a lot of on campus?
OM: A lot of maxi dresses and skirts!
