Ever since I went to the Metropolitan Art Museum this summer and saw the Punk Exhibit, I immediately became drawn to punk and edgy fashion. Everything from the vintage T-shirts, combats boots, jackets and ripped jeans—I admire it all. When I saw this Fashionista around campus, it reminded me of my fond memories of the exhibit during my summer in the city. This Fashionista’s look is effortless and perfect for class. I decided to find out more about her to hopefully gain some tips.
Name: Nicole Stratton
CollegeFashionista: Tell me about what you are wearing.
Nicole Stratton: This jacket is actually a vintage jacket from my mom. It’s Juicy Couture and it’s super comfortable and perfect for the fall. The pants I am wearing are from Urban, and the top is from the new line by Kendall and Kylie Jenner at PacSun.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
NS: My favorite places are Free People, Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters because all their clothes are really different.
CF: Who is your fashion inspiration?
NS: Blake Lively because she is always so well put together, but always looks really different from everyone. She’s my girl crush.
CF: What is your favorite fall item?
NS: Big sweaters…everyday!
How To: Wear this outfit at night. Ditch the jacket so you really can show off the tank. Swap the jeans with a pair of fun black leggings. Of course, you can’t forget your heels. A pair of colored pumps will bring some life to the outfit. After a few decades, edgy and punk is back. Miley Cyrus will even back me up on that.
