This aspiring interior designer doesn’t let her fashion falter. For a girl who is more into interior designers as opposed to fashion designers, she knows how to incorporate her artistic design capabilities into her wardrobe. When I spotted this adorable Fashionista, I noticed her monochromatic look, but the gold buttons on her military style peacoat stood out to me.
Name: Neng Jing Li
Major: Studio Art – 3D Design
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Neng Jing Li: I am wearing a black peacoat from Beijing, black leggings and black boots from I.T. in Hong Kong, along with a blue Marc Jacobs bag.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
NL: I like shopping in Hong Kong. There are a lot of stores and there is no sales tax, so everything is really cheap.
CF: Who are your favorite designers?
NL: I love architectural designers, not fashion designers, but Marc Jacobs would have to be my favorite.
CF: What is one item in your closet that you cannot live without?
NL: My leggings because they are so comfortable and shape my body well.
How To: Start with a striking peacoat such as this one by Kenneth Cole New York. Then wear a pair of casual riding boots or a pair of wedge boots depending on the occasion. If a monochromatic look is too simple for you, wearing this bright colored peacoat or accessorizing with a big colored bag like Neng Jing did is an easy solution for adding some extra pizzazz to your outfit.
