Fashionista Spotlight

Each week finding a Fashionista is very exciting since I don’t know who will inspire me. This Fashionista has always been caught in something unique and funky with a personal twist. She is confident in anything she wears, which is an inspiration in itself. Fashion should be a fearless part of life and for this Fashionista it is.

Name: Nancy Kouchha

Year: Sophomore

Major: Fashion Merchandising & Illustration

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?

Nancy Kouchha: I don’t personally have a set style (my goal is actually to not have one set style).

CF:  Where are your favorite places to shop?

NK: I really, really love to shop at Zara and H&M, but I never limit myself to one store.

CF: Who/What inspires your wardrobe?

NK: I really just buy anything and I see and like; hopefully I can put an outfit together and make it work.

CF: What does fashion mean to you?

NK: Fashion is just a way for people to get a taste of who I am without even having a conversation.

CF: How has your style changed since you’ve been in college?

NK: My style changed a whole lot since I go to school in New York City, so every time I shop its from stores in New York. The stores have a different selection than they do in New Jersey.

How To: This Fashionista took the maxi skirt trend and gave it a grunge feel. She took a maxi skirt and jean jacket look and paired it with bold accessories. Not many people would think to pair a beanie with a maxi skirt, but it’s all in the risk. You can top of a maxi skirt with a beanie or another hat that works for your style; either a fedora for a more relaxed look or a snapback for another trend. Take fashion and make it your own!
