The beanie: it’s a worldwide trend, and one that I am unfornately not able to pull off. Thankfully, I found this Fashionista who is sporting the trend impeccably. I found her down-to-earth and relaxed look a great option to wear to class. It is extremely important to be comfortable in class, especially in an art school. You never know what you’re going to be up for. By matching her beanie with basic pieces, she pulls off a very effortlessly stylish look proving that it doesn’t take much to look stylish.
Name: Nadia Rocco
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Nadia Rocco: I am wearing a basic white T-shirt and black MANGO Jeans. My boots are from Ricky Sarkany and my denim jacket from Forever 21. The beanie is from Zara and my sunnies are Gucci.
CF: How would you describe your style?
NR: My style is boho chic, but I also consider that it changes everyday with my mood and it goes with my personality. I am never serious so I am never really too dressed up. I am definitely extroverted so a pop of color is always included. I try to dress nicer the days I feel the worst because it lifts my mood up.
CF: What is your go-to outfit?
NR: As an architecture student, I never know what is waiting for me in the studio, so I guess that 70 percent of the time you will see me with a pair of dark jeans and a basic T-shirt. I try to change it up by by adding a scarf, or any kind of accessory so that the outfit doesn’t look that basic.
CF: What is your advice for Fashionistas on a budget?
NR: Well I think that you don’t really need to follow rules and, even less, the new trends that come up every season. So my best advice is try not to change your closet every time you think you are behind with trends. Just try to find your style and stick to it. Only shop when you really need to. Vary your accessories if you feel like you need to change it up more often. Spend money wisely when it comes to jeans; most of the time, you get what you pay for.
How To: In order to recreate this Fashionista’s stylish look, it is essential to find the perfect basic pieces. Find a pair of black jeans. These are an essential piece in your closet so I recommend these black skinny jeans from Paige Premium Denim. Add on a cool denim jacket like this one from ASOS. Pair it with you favorite beanie; I like this beanie from NASTY GAL because having a neutral-colored beanie makes it easier to wear it more often.
