FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Myriah Boudreau

Fashionista Spotlight

Admit it, all of our hearts broke a little after the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. On Monday it seemed like everyone on campus was mourning their dreams of warm weather and sunshine with sweatpants and salt-ruined UGGs. I was just beginning to lose hope in this week’s search for style, but then I saw this lady strutting down the street. A Fashionista after my own heart, she proves that a little black dress might actually be one of the most versatile pieces a girl can have in her closet. This Fashionista added personal touches to her LBD by mixing patterns and textures. I love how unexpectedly the plaid and leopard print work together. The leather look of the dress works fabulously with the fur and flannel. I cannot get over how this Fashionista can pull off such fierce pieces so effortlessly.

Name: Myriah Boudreau

Year: Junior

Major: English

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.

Myriah Boudreau: This dress is my favorite thing in the world. I got it at Forever 21. I stole the flannel from my boyfriend and I got my boots at Goodwill. I also got this coat at Forever 21 for about five bucks. It was my favorite find ever.

CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?

MB: Forever 21 is my jam. I also love Goodwill. They’re the only places I shop really.

CF: What’s your average thrift store game plan?

MB: Right now I’m all about oversized men’s sweaters and dresses. I like to look for affordable quality.

CF: Your style looks so effortless. How do you achieve looks like this when you’re in a rush?

MB: I always go for a dress when I’m getting ready in a rush. I hate pants. I feel like once you have a dress, you have an outfit. I also never leave my house without my necklace from Tiffany & Co. It was a gift from my mom.

CF: Is there anyone you look to specifically for style inspiration?

MB: The Olsen twins! I love their style.

How To: Like this Fashionista, I believe that a great dress is essential when it comes to effortless style. Little black dresses like this are extremely versatile (and fun). Speaking of essentials, can a fabulous, fur coat be considered one from here on out? This one from ASOS is beautiful, but if you’re looking for something a little more on the wild side, I recommend this one.
