I spotted this Fashionista in a delightfully eye-catching purple maxi skirt. I like how this outfit embodies the latest trends with maxi pieces and statement jewelry. The combination of the jewelry and the pastel skirt gives it a rocker look with a feminine touch.
Name: Michelle Ngo
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Michelle Ngo: I found this lavender maxi skirt at InBox. It’s really comfortable and a very light material. These leopard print sandals are from Target and my tank is from Forever 21. My necklace and bracelet are both from H&M.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
MN: I am girly and like dressing up. My style is fun and easy, and I don’t wear anything too out there, I just like to keep it simple. I like finding signature pieces and basing my outfits on those.
CF: What’s one item in your closet that you cannot live without?
MN: I cannot live without high-waisted jean shorts, especially for the summer. I made a lot right before spring break and I think it’s awesome that you can buy them for such a cheap price and it’s really fun to style them up yourself.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
MN: Forever 21 has a lot to choose from and is a great store for girls. I really like Four Seasons here in Iowa City. I also love Zara, H&M and Tobi.com.
CF: Who are your favorite celebrity style icons?
MN: Aimee Song is a blogger and she is really creative with her outfits. Miranda Kerr has cute, simple and classy style that I admire as well.
How To: To pull off some of Michelle’s favorite looks for the summer, these edgy, yet trendy high-waisted shorts, or this chevron print maxi dress will have you looking as great as you feel about the end of the school year!
