It is often a rarity to see someone during finals week that doesn’t look like — well, that it’s finals week. But with her cute A-line skirt, graphic tee and bright belt, she certainly fooled me for a second. She accentuates her waist by tucking her concert tee into her waist, and the bold red on her belt adds that pop of color that every outfit needs. The outfit shows how putting together a few simple pieces that you already have lying around your closet can result in a look that looks like you put in way more effort than you actually did, which is perfect for the craziness of finals week!
Name: Meredith Krim
Major: Communication (Concentration in Public Relations), Minor in Pyschology
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Meredith Krim: My style changes every day depending on what I’m in the mood for. I think if I had to describe my style using two stores it would be J.Crew and Urban Outfitters. Everything I wear is usually a combination of those two.
CF: What are the three biggest “staples” in your closet?
MK: The three biggest staples in my closet would be my black Michael Kors bag that I’m wearing today, my denim jacket and my Michael Kors watch.
CF: How do you plan an outfit?
MK: I start with the clothes, I throw on what’s comfortable and then dress it up with accessories.
CF: What is a trend you have incorporated into your style most recently?
MK: I love the big necklace trend that’s going on. I just splurged and bought myself a few of them and they look great with any outfit.
How To: To copy Meredith’s casual, put-together look, tuck a graphic or concert tee into an A-line skirt and wrap a belt in a bold color over it. A classic denim jacket adds a nice crispness to the outfit, but if it becomes too warm for it, the look is just as good without it.
