With only a few short weeks left of the semester, students at the University of Illinois are ready to bring out their spring wardrobes and flaunt their flawless tans. One Fashionista caught my eye while sporting a very bohemian-inspired look that makes me feel more than ready for summer.
Name: Meredith Carroll
Major: Animal Science
CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.
Meredith Carroll: I got both my top and skirt from Forever 21. The skirt is actually a dress, but I folded down the upper half to create a maxi skirt and paired it with gladiator sandals.
CF: How would you describe your day-to-day style?
MC: My style consists of comfy pieces, such as flowy tops. I also love dark-washed jeans, scarves and crop tops.
CF: What are you looking forward to wearing most this spring?
MC: I’m really looking forward to wearing high-waisted skirts and shorts this spring along with pastel colors.
CF: Where are you going to go shopping this season to update your spring and summer wardrobe and why?
MC: This season I will probably go to Forever 21 and PacSun. They both carry a variety of styles and a lot of cute and inexpensive pieces that work for spring and into the summer.
How To: To emulate this Fashionista, look for a floral maxi skirt, such as this one from Nordstrom. Pair it with a solid colored crop top and brown gladiator sandals. Also, look for simple pieces of jewelry, but be sure to grab a statement necklace. Happy shopping!
