We’ve seen Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez all flaunt their houndstooth attire. We’ve seen it on the runway. Recently I spotted this Fashionista rocking it on the streets of Madison. From head to toe she complemented her houndstooth dress flawlessly. With a sweater overlay and chambray button-up, she dressed the look down and easily made it a comfortable outfit to wear to class.
Name: Maggie Kucera
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Maggie Kucera: Today I am wearing a Target tweed dress, a Gap sweater, a Forever 21 chambray shirt and my favorite Target booties!
CF: What is the one complement that you get about your style repeatedly?
MK: People always tend to compliment me on how I pair individual pieces to make unique outfits. I have WAY too many clothes, so I try to rotate pieces and pair them all differently. I also get compliments on all my chunky sweaters and colorful statement necklaces.
CF: How would you describe your typical everyday look?
MK: Definitely feminine! I’m such a girly-girl and love feminine details. However, I would also say my personal style includes elements of preppy and casual. I love getting dressed up, but comfort is also key.
CF: Where do you do most of your shopping?
MK: I absolutely love Target. I also find a lot of pieces of Forever 21, H&M and Gap. Since I like to buy a lot of trend pieces, I avoid spending a lot on pieces that might go out of style quickly. However, I love finding unique and fun pieces everywhere—I don’t discriminate when it comes to shopping!
How To: The core of this look stems from this great houndstooth tweed dress. Grab a dress very similar to this one from ASOS and a cashmere blend sweater from Revolve Clothing. Finish the look with this bolt studded denim shirt from Forever 21 and a pair of Plomo Dominique suede wedge booties from Shopbop.
