FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Liz Cooper

Fashionista Spotlight

In addition to the loyalty and sisterhood joining a sorority has given me, I’ve also gained a refreshing sense of fearlessness when it comes to fashion. You see, with 130 sisters, you gain 130 new closets, 130 new styles and 130 more ways to be inspired. I spotted this Fashionista sporting a polished monochromatic look to class. Although she has always had a classy, timeless style, she agrees that her sorority has inspired her style and fashion in more ways than one.

Name: Liz Cooper

Major: Speech Therapy

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: What does fashion mean to you?

Liz Cooper: I think fashion is how people present themselves to the world. Fashion is an outlet for people to try new things, have fun and to show their personalities.

CF: How has being in a sorority influenced your style?

LC: I am definitely more open to trying new things. I’m normally pretty conservative with what I wear, but I’ve learned to have a little more fun with bold accessories so I can add something unique to each outfit without compromising my own simple style.

CF: What’s the best piece of advice you have learned about style and fashion from your sisters?

LC: I’ve learned to wear only what makes me feel really good about myself and what flatters my body. Hair and makeup are also very important to complete a look. I’ve also learned the importance of a good pair of dark jeans, a solid pair of wedges, simple dresses and statement jewelry.

CF: If you could choose any article of clothing or accessory that you own that represents your personality the most, what would it be and why?

LC: My Tory Burch Ella tote. I’ve had it for years and use it as an everyday bag to fit everything I could possibly need. It’s super classic and I think it represents my style and personality with its simplicity and versatility.

How To:  Pick a palette that you can mix and match colors from. I love how this Fashionista worked with light olive green and gray. As winter essentials, find a statement yet warm winter coat and a complementing pair of boots. Try to layer up as much as possible! Not only will layers help keep you warm, but they’re a great way to add dimension to your ensemble.  As I always reiterate in my posts, accessories in the winter are key! Throw on a beanie and a cable-knit scarf like this Fashionista and you will have a fashionable, yet effortless look to class!
