We’ve seen a lot of maxis this summer. But as a maxi lover myself, I can’t complain. Instead of opting for a simpler outfit accented with statement jewelry, this Fashionista is doing quite the opposite. With a bold color like teal patterned throughout her maxi skirt and without doing much with accessories, she wears a stylish summer outfit that’s perfectly balanced.
The great thing about maxis is that they’re almost comparable to the jeans from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants but in the form of a skirt. They’re easy to share with your friends and roommates! There isn’t a reason in the world to pass on the maxi trend this summer. It captures two things we all look for in clothes: versatility and comfort.
Name: Lina Lee
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Lina Lee: My style tends to change depending on the day but I lean more toward boho because of the comfort factor.
CF: What inspires your style?
LL: A lot of the inspiration for my style comes from growing up as a dancer… clothes that I could quickly throw over a leotard before rehearsal and dress up after. I love lace, chiffon and vintage items.
CF: What are your go-to stores?
LL: I love boutiques and obscure online stores. I like the idea that only a few people have what I’m wearing. I work at a boutique called Bluetique so I guess that’s my go-to store!
CF: What’s an important piece of fashion advice you live by?
LL: Wear what makes you feel good!
