One of this season’s hottest chart toppers was a song entitled Sweater Weather, by The Neighbourhood. It goes without saying that sweaters are the hottest trend when it’s super cold, and clearly, in this scenario, the music industry agreed with the fashion industry. This week’s Fashionista took full advantage of her sweater collection while adding some feminine pieces, as well as individual touches that made her outfit all the more interesting!
Name: Leah Bartolacci
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
Leah Bartolacci: I am wearing a black cashmere sweater, Paige Premium Denim jeans, black booties and a Barbour jacket. I also have on Tory Burch earrings, my high school class ring and a ring that my godmother gave me. Lastly, I have on a Burberry watch, a leather Gianni Chiarini wrap bracelet, a Tiffany & Co. necklace, a metal necklace from a local boutique and a Tory Burch bag.
CF: Which trends are you most excited for in spring 2014?
LB: I am looking forward to wearing bright colors and fun patterns. I am also excited to wear dresses because they are easy to throw on for the day and so much fun to accessorize.
CF: How has being a dancer affected your personal style?
LB: Because of my dance classes and rehearsal schedule, I have figured out a way to create outfits that are both stylish and simple enough to be able to quickly change into my dance wear. Being a dancer has allowed me to take some of the dancewear ‘trends’ and transform them into my outfit of the day as well.
CF: Which accessories would you never leave your apartment without?
LB: I never leave my apartment without my rings, my watch and a pair of earrings on. They are definitely included in my outfit everyday. I would feel lost if I wasn’t wearing them.
How To: The best parts of this look are the feminine touches, but before we get to that, grab a pair of blue skinny jeans and black booties. Next, try an oversized black sweater paired with a simple, yet amazing cargo jacket. The most fabulous addition to this outfit is a statement necklace that could easily work for day or night. Don’t forget to add your own personal touches with your everyday bracelets, rings or even other shorter necklaces.
