FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Lauren Mynderse

Fashionista Spotlight

While classes and school projects are not as exciting as Google Glasses debuting Ray-Ban frames with their new Luxottica partnership (as announced earlier last week), Fashionistas on campus have come to save the day to provide eye candy for all! Because let’s face it — who doesn’t appreciate a chic and fabulous outfit? This week features a sophisticated Fashionista, sporting a sleek and stylish ensemble perfect for the capricious Austin weather patterns. So, between preparing for the fluctuating temperatures and dressing up for internships and classes, let’s hear what this Fashionista had to say about her everyday sartorial choices!

Name: Lauren Mynderse

Major: Public Relations

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit today.

Lauren Mynderse: My sweater is from BCBGMAXAZRIA. My ankle boots are from Nine West and I’m wearing jeans that I think I bought from T.J. Maxx. I accessorized with a white Michael Kors watch, teal and sterling silver David Yurman cable bracelet and black Marc Jacobs purse.

CF: If you could raid anyone’s closet whose would it be and why?

LM: If I could raid anyone’s closet, I would choose Rosie, a fashion blogger. Her blog is called The Londoner and she has casual outfits for every type of outing and an array of dresses for dancing the night away. I love how her style is more relatable to me because it’s not too out there and easier to follow.

CF: What occasions do you dress up for during the week?

LM: I dress up whenever I can. If that means going out to dinner with friends so I can put on my favorite pair of pumps, I am always up for the occasion.

CF: What do you think influences your personal style the most?

LM:  I always pay attention to different trends by viewing fashion blogs and websites. It’s helpful for me to see an outfit first and then put together something that fits me and my taste.

CF: What are you most excited about wearing this spring?

LM: I am really excited about wearing pastels this spring! In the winter, I usually wear mostly dark and neutral colors. I love getting to be more adventurous with patterns and colors, while brightening up my outfits.

How To: To construct a versatile spring outfit similar to this Fashionista’s, jeans or boots are always a good way to go. Seek out some jeans from Madewell, oversized knit from Topshop and boots from Steve Madden. However, if the snow cone melting temperatures hit your area of the country, try out a casual pair of sandals to finish the look!
