Fashionista Spotlight

We’re officially a good month or so into the semester, and pretty much everyone has a set routine. The motivation to go to class has progressively decreased. Most of us have become best friends with sweatpants, leggings and jeans. Wearing jeans in college is considered dressing up in a sort of way. They’re not always the most comfortable thing to wear, so when you see someone slowly walking into their eight o’clock class graced in denim, you know they took an effort to get dressed. Kudos to those people. This Fashionista caught my eye with her mix of denim and Aztec cardigan. I loved the way the black and blue worked together. Not everyone can pull that color combination off! What I admired most about her ensemble was her long gold necklace with amber accents. It definitely was an eye-catching piece which made the entire outfit.

CollegeFashionista: If you could switch wardrobes with one celebrity who would it be and why?

Kristen Skiera: I would definitely have to switch wardrobes with Leighton Meester because she has the perfect mix of dressy, classy and sexy clothing.

CF: Do you have a favorite fashion designer?

KS: I love Chanel, they have a signature look and I love all of their embellishments.

CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?

KS: I really like Dillard’s because they have stuff that’s not commonly found around here.

CF: What is one of your favorite trends at the moment?

KS: Pastel colors! They are a nice reminder that spring and summer are on their way.

How To: Necklaces are big right now in fashion. In fact, many people style their entire outfits around them. Statement necklaces can be found pretty much everywhere, but some can be pricy. One cheap alternative is to make your own! All you need is a long chain and a cute ring, this can create a cute and personal piece to add to your jewelry collection!
