FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Kendall Cuthie

Fashionista Spotlight

During the remaining days of the semester I have found that staying outside, working out and reading have kept me the most relaxed during the last few class days of the semester leading up to the dreaded finals week. I’ve used these last days as days of reflection on the concluding semester and academic year. One of my favorite places to relax, talk with friends and reflect is around the fountain on main campus. While I was walking toward the fountain after one of my classes I ran into this Fashionista and delved into a lovely conversation about fashion, thrifting and spring trends.

I loved her trendy, thrifted style and adorable ballerina-esqe bun. I also admired how amidst all the pastels and bright floral prints I had seen other people wear around campus she had stuck to comfy neutral colors and had given them her own springtime twist.

Name: Kendall Cuthie

Major: Graphic Design

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: What is your fashion motto?

Kendall Cuthie: Make sure that whatever you buy is versatile.

CF: What influences your style?

KC: Texture, fabric and pattern influence my style the most. The weather also influences my style and determines how much layering I’ll to do each day.

CF: What is your favorite spring trend?

KC: I really like colored tights, light floral prints and textured shoes. I also like to incorporate scarves into my outfits for spring.

CF: Where do you like to shop?

KC: I love thrifting, so the Salvation Army and Goodwill are a few of my favorites. I also like to shop at Buffalo Exchange Boutique in New York, Modcloth and Anthropologie.

How To: To get this Fashionista’s trendy, thrifted look first find yourself a pair of simple black leggings an t-strap sandals. Exchange the cardigan for a patterned kimono and the tan tank top for a pintuck pleated cami. Add a gemstone ring, a pair of tribal-inspired drop earrings, then throw your hair up into a ballerina bun and you will be set for spring.
