FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Kelsey Jarrett

Fashionista Spotlight

I feel like I wait all week for it to be Friday after class, more commonly known as FAC. Aside from wanting to kick back with my friends to take a break from the rigors of college, I love seeking out my favorite version of the acronym, fashion after class. Guys and girls dressed to impress for an early start to the night. I caught this Fashionista on her way downtown looking like a stand out in her spring attire.

Name: Kelsey Jarrett

Major: Communication Studies

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.

Kelsey Jarrett: I am wearing a maxi skirt from Express, a lace long sleeve crop top from Forever 21, Michael Kors wedges and jewelry from Francesca’s Collections. I like this outfit together because it is the perfect amount of classy and fun. The crop top and high-waisted maxi skirt shows the perfect amount of skin for almost any occasion.

CF: What is your favorite color to wear in the spring?

KJ: My favorite color to wear in the spring would be anything that is bright, but if I had to pick one, I would choose coral. It is fun, bright and eye catching. I also use it as my go-to color in the spring because I think it goes well with any skin tone when summer is around the corner!

CF: Who do you go to for fashion advice?

KJ: I find myself going to my older sister. She is always the one who is not afraid to be blunt with me. I like this because I can trust her opinion and she will always tell me what looks the best on me and when something in my outfit isn’t working. I think it is important for everyone to find someone like this who they can trust for fashion advice in order to avoid fashion don’ts.

CF: Are there any fashion faux pas you like to break?

KJ: Ever since high school I’ve been breaking fashion rules and throwing on socks and sandals when I’m in a hurry or lazy. Especially in the winter, I am always tempted to throw on socks and sandals when I am in a hurry.

CF: What audience do you dress for?

KJ: Most days and weekends I find myself dressing for myself. I truly believe in “look good, feel good, do good.” If I feel good in what I am wearing, I will be the most confident and outgoing. When I am going to class, I like to be comfortable and focused, so I usually go with yoga pants and a sweatshirt. When choosing an outfit, I always put myself first, making sure I am confident and comfortable with whatever I choose.

How To: Be a stunner, like this Fashionista, in multiple spring trends. Style a bright-colored maxi skirt with a crop top and wedges. Accessorize with lively jewelry, a vibrant clutch and style your hair wavy to complete the look!
