No matter if you are traveling home for the holidays or hanging out on campus, take notes from this week’s Fashionista. Casually layered to perfection, she is prepared for anything the season may throw at her. From her beanie, graphic T-shirt and chambray, to her embossed leggings and boots, see how this Fashionista dodges snowflakes and stays warm.
Name: Kelsey Cavallo
CollegeFashionista: Where did you get each piece of your outfit?
Kelsey Cavallo: Both my sweater and boots are from Nordstrom. I found my leggings at Forever 21 and beanie at Fuego. My chambray top is from a cute boutique called Bohme! Last, which I never leave the house without, I am carrying a Coach purse.
CF: What are your wardrobe staples?
KC: I am a seasonal girl! But during the cooler temps, my wardrobe staples are boots and leggings. Comfy and casual!
CF: Tell me, what inspires your style?
KC: It all depends on my mood and the weather! As of late, my style inspiration has been layering and lots of it, especially with this cold weather. I love to look at Pinterest for new layering ideas.
CF: As we are amidst a change, what is your favorite season to dress for and why?
KC: My favorite season to dress for is fall because, like I said, I love to layer! There is something to be said about the perfect combination of layered earth tones.
CF: What will you be wearing a lot this winter?
KC: I will be wearing a lot of scarves this winter; from infinity to faux fur, I can’t seem to get enough of them!
CF: What’s next on your shopping list?
KC: The next item on my shopping list is a comfy sweater or two. There are so many unique patterns in stores right now, and I want them all (hint hint, Santa).
How To: Grab a pencil, here is a layering 101 lesson. First, foundational pieces are key, i.e. leggings and a long sleeve, like these. Then, pick a warmer layer, like a denim button-down or even a vest. Last, keep your ears and hands warm with winter accessories.
