I couldn’t miss this Fashionista as she walked by. Something about her floral dress and red cardigan really caught my eye. The way her cardigan brought out the accents of red in her dress was perfect, and her red lipstick and flats topped everything off. Each piece complemented the other, creating a great outfit for a beautiful Radford afternoon.
Name: Kelsey Boyd
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Kelsey Boyd: It’s called a skater dress and it came with the belt. I bought it from Charlotte Russe. My cardigan is from Express. I bought my TOMS shoes off of their website. Oh, and my purse is also from Charlotte Russe.
CF: Where do you usually shop for your clothes?
KB: Urban Outfitters. Well, Charlotte Russe sometimes, but mainly Urban Outfitters.
CF: How would you describe your style?
KB: Kind of hippie. Indie. Independent hippie, I guess.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
KB: There’s this Rolling Stones shirt that I got from JCPenney. I cut it across the top so that it’ll hang off of my shoulder.
CF: What has been your style inspiration lately?
KB: Courtney Love and people like her, like Sublime. They just don’t care what they wear, but they pull it off. They just kind of throw things together. It looks awesome.
How To: Floral pattern has been a strong trend lately. Widely known as a summer and spring pattern, this Fashionista wore deep reds to pair with the floral. This is a great way to transition into fall. Find a floral dress that has hidden accents of fall colors. That way, when you layer on a dark cardigan, the hidden colors will come to life right out of the pattern. Wear some flats that match the cardigan to get even more heads to turn. Her brown leather satchel is an awesome accessory for the fall. It goes with almost anything and portrays a more sophisticated look.
