While Temple students are blessed with another two weeks of winter break, I spotted this Fashionista in my hometown on her way to work. I noticed the way she mastered a sophisticated style with a touch of a romantic, feminine flare. This Fashionista reveals the optimal combination of classic winter pieces that can be easily mixed and matched to create a confident, put-together look fit for any Fashionista on the go.
Name: Keirsten Donohue
Major: Public Relations
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it?
Keirsten Donohue: I am wearing a peplum trench coat from Zara, a paisley scarf I received as a gift from Italy, 7 jeans, and my favorite knee-high boots from Aldo.
CF: Who do you look to for fashion inspiration?
KD: I love to follow what Jennifer Aniston is wearing. She does causal wear beautifully but also knows how to dress it up.
CF: What is one fashion item you cannot live without?
KD: I can’t live without a staple jacket for winter. It’s so important to have a warm jacket that goes with almost every outfit.
CF: What is your best tip for staying stylish while on a college budget?
KD: Look for sales and download apps on your phone that let you know when designer brands are selling items for a lower price or on discount websites.
CF: As a new semester and season soon approaches us, what are you most excited to wear?
KD: I’m excited to wear floral pants and ankle strap heels, along with new spring trends!
How To: This look can be achieved with this military-green pleated coat from Urban Outfitters or this peplum trench coat from Zara. Peplums are a great way to highlight feminine curves while also adding interest to an outfit. Next, add a complementary color paisley scarf to add texture and color. Free People is a great place to look for a paisley cotton scarf. Add a pair of knee-high leather boots from ALDO. Finish off the look with some sophisticated arm candy, like this season’s popular Christmas present, a Michael Kors rose gold watch.
