September is here and the fall season is in full swing. So naturally it is still 80 degrees here in sunny Clemson, South Carolina. Being that it is past Labor Day, it is hard to dress appropriately for the season when it is so warm outside still. You don’t necessarily want to wear your bright tank top and white shorts every time you go somewhere, but is there a way around that? This Fashionista certainly found a way! She was spotted sporting fun, patterned palazoo pants paired with a neutral tank while walking around campus after her morning classes.
Name: Katie Beth Byram
CollegeFashionista: What is your favorite item in fall for your wardrobe?
Katie Beth Byram: I would probably have to say my Barbour jacket and Frye boots.
CF: Where do you normally shop for your clothes?
KBB: Mostly online stores and boutiques like Hope’s, Mint Julep and Daily Chic.
CF: What kinds of clothing items attract your attention when shopping?
KBB: When I am shopping, I tend to lean more towards clothes that are classic with a modern twist.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
KBB: I am adventurous when it comes to exploring new styles. I love being able to wear J.Crew (classic) one day then boho the next. Fashion is like art to me because I get to wake up with a blank canvas every morning.
How To: An easy way to stay cool, yet fashion forward during these not so fall months is to slowly start to include a mixture of fall pieces in your daily outfit. Try to pair palazoo pants with a simple tank. It is fun to try different types of patterned pants, like these from Anthropologie, with a basic top. If you want to make your look geared more for fall, try styling pieces in darker shades. Add a little flair to your neutral top with a statement necklace, like this medallion style from Forever 21.
