Since the weather is so unpredictable in New York, one day you can be comfortable in just a sweater, and the next you feel frost-bitten with every inch of your body bundled. When I stumbled upon this Fashionista it was a somewhat warm day, so I was able to see her entire outfit right away. Katherine is a student from UMass Amherst home on winter break. She caught my eye because of her beautifully detailed infinity scarf and her subtly patterned sweater. I love putting a colorful sweater with a neutral colored scarf, but Katherine added an extra pop to her outfit by wearing a scarf that had the most interestingly beautiful pattern.
Name: Katherine Day
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
Katherine Day: I am wearing a sweater from H&M, my jeans are from Gap and my scarf is from Urban Outfitters.
CF: Where is your favorite place to shop?
KD: H&M, because it is inexpensive and offers a variety of options ranging from basics to pieces that can really make a statement. My college budget isn’t very forgiving but I know I can go into H&M and find everything I need and not break the bank.
CF: What is one piece in your closet that you cannot live without?
KD: My big comfy sweaters. You can dress them up but also be completely comfortable going to class and the library for hours. They are great for the cold Massachusetts weather and my long walks on such a large campus.
CF: What was the last item you purchased for your wardrobe?
KD: I just bought a pair of black skinny jeans. They were only $7 and they will be perfect with tall boots and a cute top for going out during the upcoming semester. They will also be great with my gray Keds and a cardigan for class.
