There is a chill in the air and you know what that means, time to break out this years fall jackets and coats! I spotted this week’s Fashionista on campus rocking many of the seasons fall trends including an edgy leather detailed jacket.
Name: Karena Wang
CollegeFashionista: Tell me what you’re wearing!
Karena Wang: A moto jacket with leather detailing from Nordstrom’s BP section, a tribal printed blouse from Forever 21, Topshop jean leggings, leopard loafers from Target, a Zara bag and I wear my Ray-Bans everyday.
CF: What or who, would you say influences your personal style?
KW: I wouldn’t say any one-person influences my style, but if I see an outfit or an element of someone’s outfit in a magazine or on them, I’ll try to make it my own. My style has definitely changed a lot throughout the years. Recently I’ve tried to keep my outfits simple and classic, with my own spin of whatever I’m feeling at the moment. I’m pretty open to different styles and trends.
CF: If you could go shopping in any city of the world what would it be?
KW: London! I LOVE European style, its so classy and elegant yet still fashion forward.
CF: What is something you see as a fashion staple, and will always have in your closet?
KW: Probably my Ray-Ban sunglasses, Michael Kors watch and a pair of Franco Sarto riding boots I’ve had since I was 15. Best $40 I’ve ever spent.
CF: Lastly, tell me some of your favorite places to shop!
KW: My biggest weakness is online shopping, I really don’t like to shop in stores! Forever 21 and TOBI are some of my favorites, like any other girl, but I also love Topshop, Zara and ASOS for stuff you don’t really see here in the states. When I am looking for a timeless basic I go to American Apparel!
How To: To achieve this Fashionista’s look make sure to pair your favorite pair of fall jeans with a leather jacket that has a unique flare like this metallic bronze jacket from Free People. This Fashionista does a great job of mixing patterns between her flats and her blouse, but to make a more subtle statement, try a metallic tipped flat to go with the bomber jacket and a printed blouse. Lastly, Don’t forget to finish off the outfit with a campus essential, a trendy bag for your books and some fab sunnies to block the rays!
