Bare legs and booties. This is THE trend for fall 2013. Fashionistas everywhere are fearlessly ditching their tights in favor of baring their legs instead. Don’t believe me? September’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar even said, “There were no tights shown on the runway with these boots.” I know what you’re thinking, “Bare legs in the fall? In the winter time? I could never pull it off!” Well Harper’s Bazaar says, “You’re going to have to suck it up,” because it’s stylish. And who can argue with style? Sometimes a little inspiration goes a long way. I spotted this Fashionista on campus, taking advantage of the still sort of warm fall weather, rocking her own spin on this season’s hottest trend.
Name: Juliana Cole
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?

JC: I would describe my style as casual with boho and vintage aspects to it.
CF: What is one item in your wardrobe that you can’t live without?
JC: One item in my closet I can’t leave without is my chambray shirt from J.Crew. I throw it over other shirts and dresses all the time.
CF: What are your fall fashion staples?
JC: My fall fashion staples are oversized sweaters, army colored jeans, circle scarves and my combat boots.
How To: Like this Fashionista, don’t be afraid to wear booties with shorts, a skirt or a dress (and remember, no tights)! Keep things cozy on top with a chunky knit sweater in a warm fall color. On the bottom try pretty crochet shorts. Now for my favorite part: the shoes. Any and all types of booties are in style right now, but this look definitely calls for short lace-up kicks. And as always, never forget to accessorize with a watch and some sunglasses.
