Every now and then the sweatpants and sweatshirt look does not cut it for class. Sometimes you want and need to dress your look up a bit. The best way to do it is simple and easy; similar to what you do when you’re a bit short on your english essay word count; embellish! Ask this Fashionista, she knows all about it!
Name: Jourdan Harmon
Majors: Hospitality Management
CollegeFashionista: If you could have brunch with anyone in the fashion industry who would it be?
Jourdan Harmon: I would love to dine with Kate Spade! We would have a marvelous brunch I think; full of scones and fine china and bows. I feel like she would be colorful and wonderful to talk to!
CF: What would you never be caught wearing?
JH: Cropped tops. I think a lot of people can rock the style, and it is a huge trend that everyone from the runway to the streets is adopting, but my motto is ‘modest is hottest.’
CF: What are you wearing and where is it from?
JH: My top is J.Crew Collection. I like the sleeves because they transform it from a simple T-shirt to a more outspoken piece. My leather skirt is by Free People. To accessorize I’m wearing a kate spade bangle, Alex and Ani mermaid bracelet (I love mermaids) and a Michael Kors watch. My boots are from Clarks and my purse is the “Gilmore” by Michael Kors.
How To: Like this Fashionista, be sure to glam up a look by adding some sparkle to a polished outfit. Whether it be by wearing sequins or glitter or loading on the accessories, getting done up for class does mean it has to take a long time, just add a little shine!
