I spotted this Fashionista this morning looking fabulous! She has the spring look down, and I can’t get over how perfectly she portrays plaid! I am loving plaid this spring, whether it is a plaid pair of leggings or a button-up, you cannot go wrong with this classic look.
Name: Joelle Cohen
CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit!
Joelle Cohen: As you can tell I’m not a girly girl so this outfit pretty much defines my personal style. I am wearing Steve Madden studded boots, J Brand ripped jeans, a plain black T-shirt from Brandy Melville, a plaid jacket from PacSun wrapped around my waist and Marc Jacobs sunglasses.
CF: Where is your favorite place to shop and why?
JC :My favorite stores tend to change over the years, but right now it would have to be a tie between LF and Brandy Melville. I love that both of their clothes have a bohemian look to them. Their clothes are comfortable, but cute and trendy at the same time. Plus, Brandy Melville has the best beanies, and I absolutely love beanies.
CF: What is one item in your closet that you would not be able to live without and why?
JC: That would definitely have to be my black leather jacket from BeBe. It’s my go to jacket because it can be paired with almost anything. I can wear it at night with a dress and heels or during the day with jeans and a top.
CF: What is your favorite up and coming trend this spring and why?
JC: Crop tops paired with harem pants! For those who don’t know what harem pants are, they are high waisted pants that are loose and baggy from the waist to the knee and tight from the knee down. Not only is it a very flattering look but it is also able to be dressed up and down. I’ve worn an outfit like this during the day with sneakers as well as at night with heels.
CF: Do you think that going to school in Syracuse has effected your style?
JC: I thought coming to Syracuse University I would be dealing with extremely cold winters but luckily the winters we have had recently were not as bad as I heard they would be. Since I am from Westchester, NY the winters I have had were very similar to the ones here and therefore I haven’t really had to change my personal style, which I love.
How To: To master this Fashionista’s look you need to get a good pair of acid wash ripped jeans and studded combat boots! Her look is so simple all you need is a simple black T-shirt and a plaid button up and you have got it!
