Being a college student is not all fun and games. With a stressful work load week after week it is often difficult to put a substantial amount of effort into your daily fashion choices. With this in mind, it is important to remember that dressing in style can often lead to success. Instead of throwing on sweats on the morning of an exam, take a few extra minutes to put together a unique fashionable look. If you look good, confidence and success will follow. I spotted this Fashionista on her way to give a speech in one of her classes. She combined just the right amount of casual and classy all while making sure the outfit was appropriate for speaking in front of the class.
Name: Jessica Piechota
Major: Exercise Science
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
JP: I find a lot of great pieces at J.Crew. I also love Forever 21, Express and Tobi.
CF: What is your favorite season to dress for?
JP: Spring, which is why I am so excited it is finally here! I love all the new fashion trends and I can’t wait to hit the mall. My favorite items for the season are over-sized sweaters and flannels.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet right now?
JP: My favorite item right now would be my black high-waisted jeans. They have an awesome fit and I can incorporate them into any outfit.
How To: It is always important to look your best while giving a speech in class. A classy and appropriate look lets the teacher know you are serious and prepared. To recreate this look throw on a pair of black jeans or jeggings as this Fashionista did. Next, add a button-down shirt with a color of your choice. To fancy up your look, layer that button-down with a fitted sweater. As for the shoes, choose a pair of riding boots that best coordinates with your outfit. Finally, add a subtle necklace and set of bangles to add just the right amount of pizzazz.
