You know there is always that one thing you have to do when you travel. You set up an itinerary, everything has it’s place and you’ve packed everything that you could have possibly fit in your suitcase. When you finally arrive at your destination, all you want to do is go out and explore. Well, when I travel, shopping at local boutiques is always on my list of things to do. This Fashionista and I were talking about her lucky find in New York. She had mentioned that she had been looking for a vest for a while and she finally found the perfect one in a local thrift store in New York. I have to say, my most beloved items come from local boutiques or shops that I have stumbled upon while exploring the mystery of a new city. Yes, monuments are fun to go to, but can you find a cute pair of shoes there? No, probably not.
Name: Jessi Delgado
Major: Criminal Justice
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it from?
Jessi Delgado: The vest I got from a trip to New York, the hat and pants are from H&M and the shirt is from Forever 21. And these are just regular Converse.
CF: Is there other stores that you also go to and why?
JD: Yeah, because they always have good stuff. Especially their fall stuff.
CF: What do you like to wear for the fall time?
JD: I like pants better than shorts and like flannels.
CF: How would you describe your style?
JD: Kind of tomboyish and casual.
How To: Word of mouth is great for when you want to find the best shops. Ask your friends if they have been to the city you are about to go to and see if they have been to any amazing local shops. If not, don’t be afraid to explore. This is a great time to really get to know the city you are in! Try looking for these pieces when you go shopping; a denim vest, a fedora and a nice pair of sunglasses. Can’t go wrong.
