My typical summer day consists of sitting in class from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon. There really isn’t a motivation to dress to impress for students taking summer classes in the College of Business. However, I always catch this Fashionista looking fashionable, from the hair down to the shoes. She is walking model of four super exciting trends for the summer: tying crop tops, brights, florals and maxis.
I’ve never thought of wearing a crop top to anywhere besides shopping, the pool or the beach. Maybe it’s the slight showing of skin that made me hesitant, but this Fashionista has convinced me that it can work for school as well. Maxi skirts make crop tops more wearable because they give a good balance from the top portion to the bottom portion of your body. Even though this Fashionista is wearing a long sleeve shirt and a maxi skirt, everything about this outfit screams summer and it’s perfect for a summer day indoors or outdoors.

How To: Do you like what you see? You can easily imitate this Fashionista’s outfit or parts of it without hurting your wallet so much. Try a maxi, but try one with different cut lengths, such as high-lows. Here is a button-up crop top with a tie front that can be paired with a maxi or high-waisted shorts.
