This Fashionista’s minimal look is perfect for Davis’ lovely spring weather. I like how this outfit embodies the latest festival fashions, crop tops and floral prints, but she gave it a formal twist strutting in a neutral strappy wedge. Her cute sunnies finish off the bohemian look with a feminine touch.
Who: Jamie Namba
College Fashionista: What are you wearing today?
Jamie Namba: My strapless crop top is from Urban Outfitters, the maxi skirt is from Thrift Town in Sacramento, the shoes are Nine West, my Dooney & Burke purse is from Mars Thrift Shop in Berkeley and all my jewelry were gifts or from Etsy.
CF: What’s your favorite place to shop at?
JN: I don’t really have one favorite place to shop. Anywhere I can get a deal is awesome whether it’s at Nordstrom’s, Target, Forever 21, Good Will, Thrift Town or Crossroads.
CF: What’s the biggest difference you notice in SoCal vs. NorCal style? Or are they pretty much the same?
JN: I’d say the styles are very similar. However, I do notice more of a relaxed boho look in SoCal–especially at Oxy.
CF: How would you describe your style?
JN: In a word: simple. I like anything that is flowy and comfortable. Dresses and maxi skirts are some of my favorite things because they are nice, fun one to two piece outfits.
CF: What’s your favorite piece of clothing?
JN: I don’t think I can choose just one, but it would have to be a tie between one my maxi skirts/dresses and one of my pairs of shoes. The skirts/dresses because they’re so comfortable, and as for the shoes, I’m just a huge sucker for shoes.
I love how minimal this look is. All you need to find a comfy strapless top and a maxi skirt. Try out a strapless crop top like this
, or an edgy one with cut outs
, these will be perfect for spring and the upcoming hot summer days. Maxis are a spring staple and it’s always fun trying out skirts with different hem lengths
and styles. Dress up your look with a beige wedge
, or anything neutral-colored. I also love wearing platformed sandals
to dress up a casual outfit. Pairing a platformed or high heeled shoe with a maxi skirt is a sneaky way to give yourself some added height. Finish off your look with a two toned bag, something with a deep enough pocket to put your phone, wallet and big necessities in, as well as a smaller pouch to put chapstick, keys and smaller items, then you’ll be set to hit the town!
